Gavar Gallery After Hrachya Buniatyan
In 1991, Gavar Gallery was established on the basis of Hrachya Buniatyan's own collection donated to the city. It is a branch of the National Gallery, and it is the only one of the branches whose collection is not made up of public funds, but donated by a private person. The 19th-20th c. works of famous Armenian and Russian artists (painting, drawing, engraving, sculpture).
The exhibition consists of 40 museum samples. The works of Yeghishe Tadevosyan, Edgar Shahin, Martiros Saryan, Hovhannes Alkhazyan, Hakob Kojoyan, Hovhannes Zardaryan, Gevorg Grigoryan, Khachatur Yesayan are exhibited here. The collection also represents another generation of artists who, based on the traditions of Armenian and world art of the past centuries, continuing the highest achievements of their predecessors, created a new, own, national in line with the times: Minas Avetisyan, Ruben Adalyan, Rudolph Khachatryan, Martin Petrosyan and others.
In the Russian art section of the collection, the famous artists A. Ostroumova-Lebedevai, A. Fonvizin and G. Vereysky's graphic works.
